Mediocre graphics and lots more in-game advertising than ever before
I'm not really sure what's different about this year's version - the only thing I noticed is a lot more in-game advertising and the frame rate has been slightly improved. In the course of the first ten minutes of playing the game I saw ads for Old Spice, Pontiac and Coca-Cola. Outside of that I think they may have changed some of the overhead angles of the stadiums during the cut scenes. The players still look like original XBox graphics and the animation doesn't seem expanded or improved in any way. So EA is selling advertising in their games but still keeping the price a full $60. If the last 5 years are any indication, Madden will also suffer from the same lack of development combined with tons of new in-game advertising.

An improvement over last year
I was hesitant about buying this game after being disappointed in the last several years versions, but I will say this year is an improvement.

I like the improvements made with the recruiting assistance, the player graphics and animations are better, I like the way the pre-snap routes will be squiqqly when playing on the road in a hostile environment, the re-addition of the cheerleaders is a good thing, and just playing the game is funner than last years.

I am disappointed in the way the crowd looks though, and there are a few glitches that bug me as well, such as when you throw passes near the sidelines your player will tip-toe and stretch to make the catch and fall down, even if they're not right next to the sideline, and have plenty of open field ahead of them. There are still some things that they can be improved upon to make it an even more enjoyable game playing experience, but I still like it.

Time for a REAL update EA. This game has just been getting minor improvements for years now, and 09 is no exception. Its not that good of a game anymore, its time for a serious overhaul. Plus you throw in the fact that the game is loaded with bugs this year and you have a game that can be passed on. Very underwhelming overall. The gameplay is better with some new animations, but there are so many annoying quirks that ruin it, players will run out of bounds even when they are wide open and running for a TD, linebackers will turn and run in the opposite direction of the ballcarrier, cornerbacks will hesitate and stand straight up to allow an offensive player to make a play, D-linemen are useless and will be wiped out by the worst o-lines in football. All of these are due to EA's attempt to make the gameplay more wide-open. Essentially all they did was make the AI defense absolutely retarded. Plus there is a roster bug where entire teams will literally disappear. Seriously. Also the biggest new feature of the year "Online Dynasty" is completely broken for most users. Again this game is so dated now, and the bugs/glitches this year just ruin it.

Under the Hood

Sony's PlayStation 3 games are encoded onto the Blu-Ray disc media format, which can hold six times as much data as traditional DVDs. This increase in capacity, combined with the awesome power of its processor and graphics card, promises mind-blowing games once developers have learned how to fully harness the new console's power. The PS3 will also support CD-ROM, CD-RW, DVD, DVD-ROM, DVD-R, DVD+R formats.

In addition, PlayStation 3 system software update version 2.20 and up includes BD Live support. With this you can now play discs that support Blu-ray Disc Profile 2.0 (BD-LIVE) and you can also connect to the Internet while playing discs that support this format so that you can obtain additional features. Features that are available vary depending on the software in use.

Sensational Controller
New gamers intuitively move the controller while playing, even though that movement has traditionally had no relation to what's going on in the game. Sony has picked up on this tendency and is using it to bring a new level of control to the PS3. Inside the controller is a high-precision sixaxis sensing system that accurately detects fine movements in pitch, roll, and yaw, as well as three dimensions of movement. This means that future PS3 games will be controlled by the movements of your hands rather than just your thumbs. For example, you might be able to steer a car by holding the controller like a steering wheel.

While the PS3 controller looks much like its Dual Shock predecessors, it will lack the force-feedback vibration since that would only interfere with the sensing system. It uses Bluetooth 2.0 wireless technology and can support wireless controllers. It's a hot-swappable system, so if your controller is running low on power, just pause your game and connect a USB 2.0 cable. You can continue playing while your controller recharges automatically.

Sony has stated that the PS3 will have similar online connectivity and services as the next generation of Xbox Live. Calling it "an always on, always connected device," SCEI's chief technical officer Masa Chatani said the PS3 would be constantly in touch with a "PlayStation World" network "fundamentally based on community, communication commerce, and content." Technically, the infrastructure is there to make that connection. The PS3 supports 10BASE-T, 100BASE-TX, 1000BASE-T Ethernet, as well as IEEE 802.11 b/g wireless networking protocols.

Sony PS3 Review
WOW! As a PC gamer my response to this PS3 is "It's Awesome!" I like how it can stand up like a tower and also be placed flat during game play (did I mention that it looks great with that shiny black finish?); also love the buttonless touch for on/off and eject functions on the console. . LOVE the BLURAY quality; the 1080p is easy to love, once you play 1080 you will find yourself unsatisfied with anything less--it will spoil you, so be careful! The game play is silky smooth--it's like playing on a super-fast personal computer with the best of cutting edge graphix and not having to wait for the disk drive to engage. I RECOMMEND THE PS3 TO ANY PC GAME LOVER! The only thing is that it comes with one controller, and it's an awesome one at that!! It's a wireless-capable, tilt-sensitive "Sixaxis" Sony controller-for those of you who are used to playing with the keyboard, comfort and familiarity will come in time and experience--you've gotta try the racing games! I plan on buying a second Sixaxis for the 2 player games--LOVE the wireless controller! Overall rating, 10 out of 10!

PS3 (40 GB) Caution!!!
My PS3 was bought in November 07, only used for blu-ray movies a few of times, This one frozed and quit playing while watching a Blu-ray movie. Afterwards, it would not recognize any discs (games, DVDs, Blu-rays). They have a serius problem with the blu ray drive...

All in one system
It has got to be one of the most versitile piece of electronic I owe. I use ot for it's blueray capabilities as much as for it's gaming capabilities.

I have it connected to my home theatre and it lets me stream music (and video) from my PC. So, I always have my music library available. This is just one of the features. It has many more.

For the money you pay, you just can't go wrong.

Short bus
After one day of use this camera started displaying "lens error" upon power up. Dealing with Canon customer service to get it fixed/replaced is a nightmare. I'd rather eat the $250. I think the EEs working on this camera rode the 'short' bus to campus. Back to Sony... and I won't be leaving again.

Yeah baby! That's what I'm talking about!
I absolutely love this camera. I use to have a Nikon Coolpix 8700 which worked great for set up shots, but it was so complex and slow for point-and-shoot and also very bulky, I hated to carry it around. Canon, specifically this camera, really got it right with this camera. Honestly it's like having the best of both worlds. You can use the Manual function to lighten or darken a picture (change the ISO, etc) with such ease, or use the AUTO for quick point-and-shoot, or even use the set up functions like Portrait, Beach, Outdoors, etc. And even with the set up function it is easy to manipulate and change the settings.

Unlike the Nikon, all my pictures with the Canon turn out GREAT. There is no lag at all. I also love the video function and use it often. People have been complaining about not having a viewfinder but honestly, who the hell cares?

I strongly recommend this camera for amateurs, consumers, professionals, etc. This is a keeper, I bring it everywhere with me and have never been disappointed in the pictures nor the developed prints. I am definitely going to continue buying Canon products.

It's a generally good camera.. which I won't repeat what other ppl say..
some perhaps unusual complaints

1. zoom during video capture is digital.. and it gets pixelated very quickly. You can do optical zoom before starting the recording, but once the recording started, the optical zoom is fixed.. i.e. you can't UNzoom the optical zoom. So the video capture still take some prior mental planning if you use the zoom a lot..
2. I have a 8GB SD card.. I always have problem copying off video clips longer than 1GB off the card through the camera.. don't know why
3. it's hard to play with where exactly you want to focus.. e.g. if you manually focus on a spot then move the camera for composition.. the focus will change.. haven't figure how to do that yet.. whereas my old Sony cybershot works perfectly.. not much depth-of-focus either..

This is an inexpensive, well shaped toy that gets the job done. Very smooth, and I think I even detected like a strawberry scent on it when it arrived, not rubbery at all. Easy to clean, easy to use--GREAT to use, hehe....definitely recommended!

Good Toy
This is a great toy. Its smooth and it has a nice glossy outside, it goes in nicely. I myself need clitoral stimulation when using any thing that penetrates me inside, and I use this toy when I need some penetration. And it feels amazing. I would recommend it for anyone. :)
